Estilo de vida

The family’s love of traditional life is evident from the extensive equestrian facilities they have developed at the Angostura estate. Visitors to the on site restaurant, hotel or wine bar can take in the sights of the Casa Silva polo team in action or local Huaso cowboys demonstrating their skills in the rodeo stadium. Visitors are also able to learn to horse-ride, participate in the show-jumping arena, or even learn the traditional Cueca dance – all surrounded by the beautiful vineyards with the dramatic backdrop of the Andes Mountains.

The Chilean Rodeo is one of Chile’s deepest-rooted traditions. The huasos—or horsemen—who participate in the rodeo and cultivate tradition, come from the Colchagua Valley. For the Silva family, respect and affection for the rodeo and those who take part in it is a way of life.

The Silva family’s great passion for horses and polo includes its love of polo. The winery has a polo field where friends come to play and matches are often held. Casa Silva, in alliance with the Banco Itau, founded the Itau-Casa Silva Polo team, which participates in all of the major national tournaments and has been recognized as one of the best polo teams in the country.
